“What a Friend We Have in Jesus!”

imageTrue friends are really hard to find like what the saying says.

Well, I am sure that many of you have your own circle of friends. Some of you may have one, two, ten or even more than that!

I, for one has many friends all over the globe! Yes, they come from different parts of the world… from different nations. I met some of them during my travels and during my missionary conferences.  Moreover,  I will never ever forget my long time friends from school, from work and from the ministry. It is really great to have wonderful and caring friends like them!

Talking about friendship as believers, you know that Jesus is Our Friend! He is the “Best Friend” that we have been longing for in our lives! We may not have found our best friend yet up to this time here in this planet earth, but Jesus has become our best friend from the time we made Him the Lord and Saviour of our lives! Isn’t that awesome? He is just waiting for us to grow and blossom this special friendship with Him!

Now, let’s take a look at this article which talks about Jesus’ relationship to us as His Friend…read on…

What kind of friend is Jesus? John 15:13 answers that question: “Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.” Because He gave Himself for all people, we as His followers can give ourselves for a few. Who in your circle of influence needs the sacrifice of your time or care? Take time to minister to them and provide for their needs, because there is no greater privilege than being the hands and feet of Jesus.

“Wanted: Superheroes”

imageHello everyone! I know that I’ve hibernated for quite awhile…I am so sorry, my dear readers!

There were lots of things and changes that went on with my life, family and ministry and the list goes on and on…

Anyway, the most important thing right now is I am back blogging! Yey!!!

Indeed, life has many ups and downs but “Praise God for His goodness!”… that we can always get through with every trial that comes our way because God is always there for us!

This is my first post this October and I was just reading this devotional article which I wanted to share with you which I think is an eye-opener for all of us as parents, especially to the husbands and dads out there! Here you go…

The success of superhero films is amazing: Spiderman, Batman, Ironman . . . the list goes on. Superman has always trumped the lot of them, as he, according to the old TV show was, “faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound,” (plus fire comes out of his eyes).
Remember the words, “Look! Up in the sky. It’s a bird. It’s a plane. It’s Superman!” The problem, of course, is Superman is fictional. But there is a “Superman” in real life. He’s called Dad. Not just any dad. I am talking about a dad who stays married to his wife and raises his children to follow God and be responsible—a dad who is a godly role model and leader in the home. That, to me, is a Superman.

Farewell…Mainland China~Hello Macau!

Farewell, Mainland China…Hello Macau!

February 14, 2015 was the day I left Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province, Mainland China, my first missionary assignment. This was a bittersweet day( both a sad and a happy day).  Sad because I was leaving Mainland China, my friends and my co-laborers in Christ and happy because this day was also the day I am entering the land of my calling, the land which God has promised to me in my spirit and this is the Land of  Macau, China.

I have lived in Zhongshan City, China for about 2 years, 5 months and 7 days to be exact.  Living in China was one of the best things that ever happened in my life.  I am grateful to God for giving me such a wonderful opportunity to live, teach and do mission work there.  I have gained so many Chinese friends there and they will be my friends for life.  I got to know their culture, traditions and way of life.  The Chinese people have shown us(Rey, my husband and I) respect and treated us like their family…from the stores to the restaurants and of course, to our school where we teach.

The Lord helped me to establish a College Campus Bible Study Ministry at Zhongshan City Technical College together with my Chinese friends and a Canadian Professor there, his name is Brother Norman . Bro. Norman is also a missionary and his calling is in Solomon Islands. He’s  in China because he was waiting for the right time to go there. He and his Chinese wife, Sis Lisa offered us their dorm room to be used for the Bible Study,  for us to minister and teach the Chinese college students who are willing to join us and learn the Bible and teach them about Jesus Christ and His Grace.   It was an amazing experience! That was  God’s favor!  Then, after that,  I opened our home in Zhongshan City to start the “Learning English through the Bible” Home Cell Group Ministry for my Chinese friends who are willing to learn English.  Many of them wanted to improve their English pronunciation and also they wanted to practice Oral English Conversation with native speakers like me and the Lord gave me an idea to use my English teaching to connect with them and incorporate the English Bible Study in the lessons.

Being in a restricted country, the Lord opened doors of opportunities for me to be able to reach out to the Chinese community.  I am so deeply touched and blessed by these experiences.  I have learned a lot!  It helped me grew as a Christian Missionary.  I knew that the Lord used these experiences to help me get ready and for me to be prepared for the calling which He has for me to the land which He had called me to go to since April 2011…. the Land of Macau, China.

Hello Macau!  Yes, indeed! When the Lord told me these words: “Pack up your belongings, go and gather My people.”, I knew that it was time for me to say goodbye to Mainland China and time for me to go to Macau.  It was a very exciting moment!  Stepping out in faith and getting out of  my comfort zone were the keys to obeying the Lord’s calling for me.  Genesis 12:1-3 was His verse for me back in April 2011 and His one word for me was the word, “Commit” with the accompanying verse in Proverbs 16:3.   Truly, these were the signs of His calling for me… He was stirring up my spirit.  I was very restless with excitement in my heart and it seems like giving birth!

Lo and behold, by faith, I left Mainland China and went to Macau without any place to stay.  I arrived in Macau, February 14, 2015  in the evening then that same evening, the Lord provided me a bedspace to stay for the next 30 days for me to be able to establish the ministry.  I moved in to that bedspace the following day because the landlord needed to prepare it for me.

I just held on to God’s promises for me just before I left Mainland China and He spoke to my heart and impressed these words to me…”I have already prepared a place for you there!”  So, by faith, like Abraham, I went without knowing where to go but truly, there is blessing in obedience!  Faith is the key to knowing and seeing what is on the other side!  Without faith, I would never be able to see and experience what the Lord has promised me since April of 2011.

Lord God, You are truly an Awesome God and a Faithful God!

I am grateful because I obeyed and I have completely surrendered everything to you!  Thank you, Lord  for letting me to become strong and courageous no matter what lies ahead of me!

The Bible says in Philippians 4:13:

13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Thank You, Lord for being my strength and my shield, my fortress and my strong tower!

What about my family?  I do believe that the Lord is continuously taking care of my family and I know that one day we will all be together!

I have faith that the best is yet to come and I am always looking forward to each and every day of my stay here in Macau…I do pray for a fruitful harvest and ministry here!

To my donors, leaders in faith, church and mission family and friends, to my dear readers of this blog, I thank you so much for your never ending prayers and support for this mission!

May the Lord abundantly bless you for being partners in this ministry!

To God be all the Glory!

My Word and My Verse for 2015

commitA Very Blessed and a Prosperous New Year to everyone and Happy Spring Festival(Chinese New Year) to the whole Chinese community!

January ~ a time of praying, fasting, seeking and waiting for God’s direction and answers.  I was seeking Him as to what would be His direction in my life for the next coming weeks and months.

As I was waiting upon the Lord, He impressed in my heart this One Word and One Verse. The word was “COMMIT” and the verse was: Proverbs 16:3 ~” Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.”  When I heard this one word and one verse in my spirit, the Lord once again impressed in my heart the Land of Macau, the place where the Lord called me to go ~The place of His promise to me.  God is truly an Awesome God! Praise and Glory to His Name!

A Blessed Merry Christmas!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year as the song goes…

Yes, Christmas is truly a wonderful time to celebrate the birth of our Lord and our Savior, Jesus Christ!

Isaiah 9:6 (KJV) says:

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

Jesus is the reason for this season! He is the true meaning of Christmas!  He is the “greatest gift” that we can ever receive in our lives! He is the “True Gift.”

Without Jesus, we are nothing!  We need Jesus in our lives!  He is our Source and the Provider of everything!

Our Heavenly Father gave His only begotten son, Jesus, to redeem us from our sinful nature because He loves us unconditionally!

He wants to give us a “Free Gift” and this is the gift of His Wondrous Grace. God promised us a Savior and that is Jesus!   All we need to do is just accept Him and let Him in- in our hearts and in our lives!

The gift of Grace is free.  There is no need to pay in cash, in kind or even use a credit card to have it!  It is priceless and it is yours to keep …..all you need is to take a step of faith in Him!

Friends, if you haven’t received this Free Gift yet, Jesus is offering this free gift to you right now.  I do hope and pray that you’ll gladly receive this gift like what I did when I was 9 years of age.

JESUS is the best gift I have ever received in my life! Thank you Lord Jesus for your Amazing Grace, because of this…I know I have eternal life with You!

Have a Blessed Merry Christmas to All!
